The Keuka Lake Association has kicked off its 2025 Membership Campaign, calling on residents, businesses, and lake enthusiasts to support its mission of protecting the lake’s pristine waters. As the only organization solely dedicated to preserving Keuka Lake and its watershed, the KLA plays a crucial role in community-led conservation, advocacy, and education efforts.
The association’s leadership is emphasizing the importance of growing its membership base this year to strengthen collaborative projects and enhance its impact on the lake’s long-term sustainability.
“We study the lake, test the water, educate those who use it, and collaborate with other organizations to keep Keuka Lake clean, safe, and ecologically balanced,” said KLA President Rob Dintruff. “This work benefits everyone in the greater Keuka Lake community.”
Bob Karczewski, Chair of the Communication and Outreach Committee, reinforced the message that collective action is key to the KLA’s success. “If you are committed to the health and well-being of Keuka Lake and its watershed, you belong in the KLA,” he said. “When it comes to the greater Keuka community, ownership is donorship. We are in this together – both as beneficiaries and as stewards.”
Joining or renewing a membership is a simple process through the KLA website at www.keukalakeassociation.org. Supporters can navigate to the “Support KLA” section and follow prompts to complete their membership.
Founded in 1956, the KLA represents over 1,500 members, including lakeshore property owners, recreational users, and local businesses. The organization focuses on lake level control, water quality, land use, recreational use, and conservation. Its efforts aim to safeguard Keuka Lake’s natural beauty for future generations.
