Terrel Bernard is staying in Buffalo through at least 2029.
The Bills announced Friday morning that they have signed the linebacker to a a four-year, $50 million contract extension that includes $25.2 million guaranteed.
Bernard, a third-round pick in 2022, has become a key defensive leader, earning a captain role alongside quarterback Josh Allen last season. He stepped into the starting middle linebacker position in 2023 following Tremaine Edmunds’ departure. Over the past two seasons, Bernard has started 30 games, tallying 269 tackles, 7.5 sacks, five interceptions, and four fumble recoveries.
Bernard is the second member of Buffalo’s 2022 draft class to receive a long-term deal, following wide receiver Khalil Shakir’s extension last week.
