Middlesex man hospitalized after rollover crash

A 69-year-old Middlesex man was hospitalized Saturday evening after his vehicle overturned in a crash on Dinehart Cross Road.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, James K. Newell was traveling west on North Vine Valley Road around 6:10 p.m. when he failed to navigate a left turn onto Dinehart Cross Road. His vehicle left the roadway, struck a street sign, and then crossed Dinehart Cross Road before coming to rest in a field.


Emergency responders from the Middlesex Fire Department, Middlesex Ambulance, and Canandaigua Ambulance arrived on the scene. Newell was transported by Middlesex Ambulance to a hospital for evaluation.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
