Syracuse (12-17, 6-12 ACC) hits the road for its final away game of the regular season, facing SMU (21-8, 12-6 ACC) for the first time ever tonight at 9 p.m.
The Orange are coming off a tough 101-95 overtime loss to Virginia Tech, despite Jaquan Carlos forcing the extra period with a late three-pointer. Jyare Davis led Syracuse with 21 points, while Eddie Lampkin Jr. recorded his 13th double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
SMU, currently tied for fourth in the ACC, split its recent road trip in California, defeating Cal before falling to Stanford. Chuck Harris has been the Mustangs’ top scorer, averaging 19 points over the past two games. SMU is led by first-year head coach Andy Enfield, who previously coached at USC and Florida Gulf Coast.
Judah Mintz has been a consistent force for Syracuse, averaging 18.3 points per game, while Lampkin Jr. continues to dominate the boards with 9.6 rebounds per contest. Syracuse ranks third in the ACC in rebounding (37.6 per game), while SMU leads the conference (39.3).
