Wayne County receives state funding for industrial development

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

The Wayne County Industrial Development Agency has been awarded $100,000 through New York’s FAST NY grant program to support industrial site development. The funding is part of a $32.6 million statewide initiative announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The grant will help assess water and sewage infrastructure at Lyons Industrial Park and other sites along Route 31. The FAST NY program, which has allocated nearly $233 million to 32 locations, aims to attract high-tech manufacturing and large employers to New York.

County officials welcome the investment, emphasizing its role in enhancing business growth. Hochul plans to expand FAST NY with an additional $100 million in the 2026 budget to strengthen the state’s economic competitiveness.
