Ithaca’s Applebee’s to close in May

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

The Applebee’s Grill & Bar in Ithaca’s northeast will close on May 19, with staff informed that rising rent costs made the location unprofitable. The restaurant space, owned by Benderson Development, is now listed for lease.

Employees are being offered bonuses to stay until closing, but the property owner has not commented on the situation. Nearby dining options include Olé Olé, Mitsuba, and Zócalo, among others.

Applebee’s locations in Cortland, Vestal, Binghamton, Elmira, and Sayre remain open. Until May, the Ithaca location continues to operate daily at 2300 North Triphammer Road.
