Geneva police, Ontario County deputies, and New York State Troopers responded to an investigation on Hogarth Street early Wednesday afternoon, briefly shutting down traffic in the area.
According to Geneva Police Lt. John Van Savage, officers assisted state troopers at approximately 12:45 p.m. due to the nature of the investigation. While specific details were not disclosed, law enforcement took extra precautions to ensure public and officer safety.
During the response, both northbound and southbound traffic on North Exchange Street was temporarily halted. Officials confirmed that the public was never in danger.
One male subject was detained in connection with the investigation, and no injuries were reported. Authorities have not provided additional details regarding the nature of the case.
