An Ovid woman was arrested after authorities say she forcibly shoved another person into a chair, causing it to break, and then placed the victim in a chokehold.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reported that deputies arrested Amanda L. Moshier, 36, of Hall Road, on February 26 at 10:22 p.m. She was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, as well as fourth-degree criminal mischief for intentionally damaging another person’s property.
The arrest followed an investigation into an incident that occurred on February 8. According to deputies, Moshier allegedly subjected a female victim to unwanted physical contact by shoving her into a chair, which broke from the impact. She then reportedly placed the victim in a chokehold, cutting off her airway and obstructing circulation.
Moshier was processed on the charges and taken to the Seneca County Jail. She remained in custody until her arraignment in CAP Court on February 26.
