Keystone Mills granted extension on tax break

  • Staff Report

The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has extended Keystone Mills LLC’s sales tax exemption for its Fayette grain business expansion. Originally set to expire in 2024, the exemption now runs through Dec. 31, 2025, allowing tax-free purchases of materials and equipment for the delayed project.

The company plans to build a feed milling facility with storage and warehouse space on Route 336. The IDA authorized up to $18.7 million in tax-exempt purchases, saving Keystone Mills $1.22 million in sales tax. Due to project delays, the company previously received an extension in 2023.

The IDA board unanimously approved the latest extension, retroactive to Dec. 30, 2024, citing valid reasons for the project’s delay.
