Crash in Seneca injures one after SUV slides through intersection

Deputies from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury crash early Monday morning at the intersection of Lake-to-Lake Road and State Route 14A in Seneca.

At approximately 6:51 a.m., authorities found that a black Honda SUV, driven by 27-year-old William P. Driscoll of Stanley, had been traveling eastbound on Lake-to-Lake Road. As Driscoll attempted to stop at the intersection, his vehicle slid due to excessive speed for the snowy conditions, causing it to enter the roadway and collide with a Casella roll-off dump truck.

Driscoll sustained a fractured left leg in the crash and was transported by Stanley-Hall-Gorham Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Deputies issued Driscoll a citation for speed not reasonable or prudent. He is scheduled to appear in Seneca Town Court at a later date. The driver of the dump truck, 58-year-old Derrick F. Kline of Lyons, was not reported injured.
