The Orange (2-0) wasted no time, as Ward opened the scoring just 50 seconds into the game. After Maryland responded, Ward set up Adamson’s first goal and followed up with an unassisted strike. She continued her stellar play by assisting Sam DeVito and scoring again to give Syracuse a 5-1 lead. Despite a brief Maryland surge, Syracuse maintained control and went into halftime with an 8-4 advantage.

After the break, the teams exchanged goals before Mileena Cotter’s timely score ignited a 4-0 run, pushing the lead to 14-6. Maryland fought back with three straight goals, but Adamson’s fourth tally, assisted by Ward, sealed the 15-9 victory.

Syracuse will return to the JMA Wireless Dome to face Cornell on Tuesday, February 18, at 4 p.m.
