The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Palmyra man for driving while intoxicated following a late-night traffic stop in the Village of Palmyra.

Deputies stopped David R. Griffith Jr., 65, of Turner Road, at 12:21 a.m. on February 13 after he failed to signal before turning west onto East Main Street from State Route 21. During the stop, deputies detected the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

Following an investigation, authorities determined Griffith was under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where a chemical test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.09%.

Griffith was processed and released with a court date at Palmyra Village Court to answer the charges.
