A Pew Research Center survey finds that opinions on U.S. aid to Ukraine remain sharply divided along party lines. While 47% of Republicans believe the U.S. is providing too much support, only 14% of Democrats share that view. Meanwhile, 35% of Democrats think the U.S. isn’t doing enough, compared to just 10% of Republicans.
Democrats are also more likely to believe aiding Ukraine helps U.S. national security (53% vs. 27% of Republicans). Support for NATO remains strong overall but has declined among Republicans, with only 47% now seeing benefits in membership.
Calls for increased European defense spending have also dropped, reflecting a broader shift in U.S. public opinion on global military commitments.
