Thursday night delivered 12 Wayne-Finger Lakes high school basketball games, but just one was decided by single digits.
That contest took place in Walworth, where the Gananda boys narrowly defeated Clyde-Savannah, thanks to Cooper Grassel’s three-pointer with just 11 seconds remaining. Meanwhile, the Newark girls rolled past Mynderse to extend their win streak to eight.

The Panthers led 26-22 after the first quarter and held a 47-41 advantage at halftime. The Golden Eagles outscored Gananda 23-13 in the third to take a four-point lead into the fourth. The teams traded several leads over the final eight minutes before Cooper Grassel hit the shot of the night, draining a three-pointer from the top of the key with 11 seconds remaining in regulation, leading the Panthers to their fourth straight win. Gananda made 11 shots from beyond the arc, while Clyde-Savannah connected on nine threes.
