Sodus woman admits to arson in $200,000+ insurance scheme

A Sodus woman’s plan to cash in on a large insurance policy ended with a guilty plea to third-degree arson. Pamela A. Robinson, 48, admitted to intentionally setting a fire after increasing her renters’ insurance coverage to $200,000 in 2023.

Before the fire, witnesses observed Robinson moving her belongings, including a fish tank, into her car. Suspicious activity prompted an investigation by State Police, leading to her 2024 indictment and arrest for felony arson and insurance fraud.

Robinson faces up to two to six years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for March 18.
