While 47% say deportation efforts are appropriate, 44% believe they’re excessive, and 59% overall support stricter border security, including increased military presence.
Among Republicans, approval for these measures is overwhelming, with over 85% backing deportation increases and more troops at the border. However, cutting federal funds to non-cooperating states and suspending asylum applications garners less support. Democrats largely oppose these policies, though 33% support stricter deportation efforts.
Racial and ethnic differences in opinion are notable. White Republicans show the strongest support, while Hispanic and Asian Republicans are somewhat less enthusiastic. Across all groups, Democratic disapproval remains dominant.
