A missing juvenile from Ithaca has been found safe, according to a media release by the Ithaca Police Department on Thursday.
Shiasia Leshai Stevens, 15, who was reported missing earlier this week, was located in Newfield, NY, around 11:18 p.m. on February 6. Authorities confirmed that Stevens was unharmed and is now under the care of her family.
Stevens was last seen on February 4 on the 600 block of Chestnut Street in Ithaca. She is described as being 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 97 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing black and red pajama pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
The initial investigation led authorities to believe that Stevens was not in immediate danger and likely remained in the Ithaca area. The police department had issued a public request for information, encouraging both anonymous tips and direct reports to aid the search effort.
Ithaca Police expressed gratitude for the community’s support in locating the teen.
