A Painted Post woman has been charged with burglary and criminal contempt after allegedly violating an order of protection, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to Sheriff Jim Allard, deputies arrested Sonya M. Hale, 33, of Creekside Drive, on January 25 following an investigation in the Town of Erwin. Authorities allege that Hale unlawfully entered and remained at a residence she was prohibited from visiting under the terms of an active order of protection.
Hale has been charged with second-degree burglary, a class D felony, and second-degree criminal contempt. She was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and subsequently released.
