Two arrested, illegal weapon seized in Ithaca drug investigation

A pre-dawn police raid at an East Green Street apartment led to the arrests of two men and the seizure of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a weapon on Monday morning.

Anthony Teutonico Jr., 23, and Kevin Krise, 20, were taken into custody at 118 East Green Street around 4:30 a.m. after officers from the Ithaca-Tompkins Specialized Response Team executed a search warrant as part of a narcotics trafficking investigation. Authorities reported finding an illegally possessed dagger along with controlled substances and paraphernalia.

Krise faces multiple charges, including fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor; third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony; and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, also a Class A misdemeanor. He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and released on his own recognizance.

Teutonico Jr. was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Following his arraignment, he was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $2,000 bail.

During the search, police also encountered 41-year-old Benjamin Sturdivant, who had active bench warrants for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree harassment. He was subsequently arrested and brought to Ithaca City Court.

The Ithaca Police Department was assisted by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and the Ithaca-Tompkins Crisis Negotiation Team in the operation.
