Emergency crews responded to a dramatic crash on the New York State Thruway, where a car became wedged under a tractor-trailer. Despite initial reports that the car had been dragged beneath the trailer, all occupants were able to self-extricate, and no injuries were reported.

The Clyde-Galen Fire District, Weedsport Fire Department, and North Seneca EMS were among the agencies dispatched to the scene. Clyde’s Rescue 2 unit and other apparatus from Tyre and Clyde responded to the call. Upon arrival, 962 Chief C. Haig confirmed the situation and worked with crews to assess both vehicles involved.
One lane of the Thruway was shut down as crews worked to separate the car from the tractor-trailer. Pullens Towing assisted with vehicle removal, allowing all units to clear the scene once the vehicles were safely extricated.
The Clyde-Galen Fire District extended a special thanks to the Weedsport Fire Department for their assistance during the incident. Additional responders included NYSP troopers and local EMS personnel.
