Over 50,000 people gathered in Washington, D.C., for the “People’s March” to voice concerns about potential rollbacks on civil rights under the incoming Trump administration.
Organized by diverse advocacy groups, the event drew attendees from across the U.S., including former Trump supporters, uniting to defend women’s and LGBTQ rights.
Participants rallied at the Lincoln Memorial after smaller gatherings across the city. Many expressed determination to continue resisting policies they view as threats to democracy. The march is one of several events leading up to Trump’s inauguration and a planned victory rally tomorrow.
