The historic Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena has become a temporary base for over 4,000 firefighters and National Guard troops battling the Eaton Fire.
The site now functions as a makeshift city, complete with sleeping trailers, kitchens, medical facilities, and even a McDonald’s.
The Eaton Fire’s rapid spread required relocation of the command post to the Rose Bowl, which offered the necessary infrastructure.
Despite personal losses, including homes burned down, many staff have continued their work, highlighting community resilience. Officials credit the stadium’s adaptability in supporting large-scale emergency operations.
