The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit has received a donated bullet and stab-resistant vest for Elza, a five-year-old German Shepherd.
The vest, provided by the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, ensures additional safety for Elza in high-risk situations.
The K-9 unit, funded entirely by donations, is hosting a fundraiser on February 9 at the Montour Moose Club to support equipment and care for its dogs. Tickets for the event are $12.
