Three men have been arrested in connection with a violent gang assault that left a victim hospitalized with serious injuries, Geneva police said.
Horace Betts, 40, and Jamie L. Downing, 32, were taken into custody Thursday afternoon. Tyler A. Liberatore, 28, had been arrested earlier in the week on the same charges. All three are convicted felons and face charges of gang assault in the first degree, a class B felony, and assault in the second degree, a class D felony. Liberatore was also recently arrested in connection with a shooting on Castle Street.
Police said the arrests stem from an incident on Dec. 31, 2024, on Seneca Street. The men are accused of using a baseball bat to assault another individual, causing severe injuries including a broken jaw and internal injuries. The victim sought medical treatment for the injuries, but their current condition was not disclosed.

Investigators believe the assault was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Betts and Downing were processed at the Geneva Police Department and are being held without bail at the Ontario County Jail. Liberatore is also being held without bail on an unrelated felony charge.
