Lyons man, juveniles charged in assault and robbery incident

An 18-year-old Lyons man and two juveniles face charges following a violent altercation on December 29, 2024, that left a victim injured and threatened.

David G. Williams III was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and charged with assault in the third degree. Investigators allege Williams and the juveniles were involved in a physical altercation with the victim, resulting in head and facial injuries. During the incident, two juveniles reportedly stole the victim’s backpack and shoes.

Later that evening, the same juveniles allegedly threatened the victim with knives. They face charges of robbery in the second degree, assault in the third degree, menacing in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Their cases are being handled through the juvenile justice system.

Williams was issued an appearance ticket and released. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Lyons Court at a later date to address the charge.
