Two displaced after Genoa house fire; flames rekindle after firefighters bring it under control

A fire destroyed a home on Ledyard Road in Genoa, displacing two residents who are now staying with family.

The blaze, reported around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, was under control by 3:30 p.m., but rekindled later that evening, requiring firefighters to return.


The house is considered a total loss, and the American Red Cross is assisting. No injuries were reported, and the fire’s cause is under investigation.

Multiple fire departments and emergency services responded to the scene.
