A Geneva man is in custody following the discovery of an active warrant for his arrest originating from Colorado.
Deputies from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check on West North Street in the Town of Geneva on Thursday at approximately 4:30 p.m. The subject of the check was identified as Jeremy W. Simons, 49, who had an active warrant issued by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.
Authorities confirmed the warrant called for full extradition. Simons was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held as a fugitive from justice while arrangements are made for his extradition.
Details regarding the original charges associated with the warrant have not been released by law enforcement.
