New York’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign issued 129,686 tickets during its Dec. 11 to Jan. 1 enforcement period, targeting impaired and reckless drivers.
Violations included 4,264 for impaired driving, 23,339 for speeding, and 93,667 for other infractions.
State Troopers made 750 DWI arrests and issued 45,683 tickets for additional offenses.
Governor Kathy Hochul emphasized the initiative’s role in reducing crashes and saving lives, thanking law enforcement for their efforts to protect travelers during the holidays.
