Geneva Police have made arrests in connection with a December 21 shooting near the Geneva Public Library that left no injuries but sparked community concern.
Erica Marie White, 32, and Tyler Armond Liberatore, 28, both of Geneva, were arrested on Friday and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a Class C felony, police said. Liberatore is a convicted felon.
The arrests follow an investigation into the 2 a.m. shooting incident on Castle Street, during which five gunshots were fired in the direction of the library. Witnesses reported a black four-door sedan fleeing the scene. No one was injured in the incident.
White and Liberatore were identified as persons of interest by Geneva’s Detective Bureau. Both suspects were processed at the Geneva Police Department and transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment. Authorities noted that additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Police believe others may have been involved in the shooting. Investigators urge anyone with information to contact the Geneva Police Department or Detective Lieutenant John Van Savage. Tips can remain anonymous.
