A South Bristol family of eight escaped unharmed early Friday morning after a fire broke out at their Powell Hill Road residence.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, along with Naples, Bristol, and Cheshire fire departments, responded to the home at 6557 Powell Hill Road around 2:46 a.m. after reports of smoke. Upon arrival, crews found smoke emanating from the residence.
Homeowner Andrew P. Toulson, 42, his wife, and their six children evacuated safely before firefighters arrived. The fire was quickly extinguished, leaving minor damage to the exterior and surrounding electrical wires. The family has made alternative housing arrangements.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by county fire coordinators.
