As the holiday season winds down, the City of Canandaigua Parks Department is stepping in to help residents with their post-Christmas cleanup. Officials announced they will be collecting Christmas trees through the end of January.
Residents are asked to place their trees in the area between the sidewalk and the street, ensuring they are free of all decorations, lights, and tinsel. Trees should also not be placed in bags to allow for proper collection and disposal.
The annual tree pickup not only helps keep neighborhoods tidy but also allows the city to properly dispose of or repurpose the trees, often turning them into mulch or compost for community landscaping projects.
Residents are encouraged to follow the guidelines to ensure efficient and safe collection by city crews.
