The City of Canandaigua has announced its City Council committee leadership appointments and the official schedule for council and committee meetings for 2025.
Council President Erich Dittmar will oversee the council, with Boylan Code serving as Corporation Counsel and Preston Pierce continuing as City Historian​.
The council’s standing committees will be chaired as follows: Erich Dittmar will lead the Environmental Committee, Donna Cator will chair Finance, Sim Covington will head Ordinance, and Thomas Lyon will oversee Planning. Each committee includes multiple council members to address city priorities effectively​.
The council will also have a Planned Urban Development (PUD) Special Committee, chaired by Bob Palumbo, with all council members participating. Palumbo will also represent the city on the Watershed Council​.
In addition to committee assignments, the city outlined its 2025 meeting calendar. Regular City Council meetings will occur on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Hurley Building, with a few exceptions due to holiday scheduling​.
Committee meetings are also set: Planning and Finance Committees will meet on the second Monday of each month, while Environmental and Ordinance Committees will meet on the first Monday​.
Special budget workshops are planned for November and December to prepare the city’s financial framework for the upcoming year​.
Residents are encouraged to participate in these public meetings to stay informed and engaged with city governance.
