Police investigating attempted burglary at Geneva business

  • Staff Report

Police are investigating an attempted burglary after discovering a smashed rear entrance door at a Castle Street business late Friday night.

Officers from the City of Geneva Police Department responded to 142 Castle Street around 11:15 p.m. on December 27, where they found a rear window shattered, apparently by a brick. After entering the premises, officers confirmed no suspect was present and nothing had been stolen.

A New York State Trooper K9 unit was called to the scene, but attempts to track a suspect were unsuccessful. Police also attempted to contact the business owner, but they were unavailable.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Lieutenant John Van Savage at 315-828-6779 or the Geneva Police tips line at 315-781-0096. Information can be provided anonymously.
