Gorham receives grant for water quality plan

The town of Gorham, in partnership with the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council, secured a $112,000 state grant to develop a Water Quality and Flood Resiliency Strategic Plan. The funding, awarded through the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative, aims to address storm impacts intensified by climate change.

The plan will assess drainage systems, propose nature-based solutions, prioritize projects, and create preliminary designs for key initiatives.

Supported by the state’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, these grants help communities protect natural resources, boost tourism, and enhance public access while driving sustainable economic growth.
