Paul Clifford, 53, was found dead near a smoldering vehicle northeast of Tucson after offering late-night assistance to a man claiming car trouble. Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death, and no suspects have been identified.
Clifford, described by his daughter as a “gentle giant with a caring heart,” left home around 11:30 p.m. Monday to help the stranded driver but never returned. Authorities later discovered a stolen vehicle linked to the incident at an apartment complex.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward as Clifford’s family mourns their tragic loss.
