A Dundee man was arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit through the Village of Dundee late Thursday night, which ended in a crash on State Route 14.
Jonathan R. Webb, 30, faces multiple charges, including unlawfully fleeing a police officer in the third degree, reckless driving, and several traffic violations.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began after deputies attempted to stop Webb during an interview regarding an unrelated incident. Webb allegedly sped away with his headlights off, committing multiple traffic infractions, including failing to stop at stop signs and unsafe lane changes.
Deputies pursued Webb as he drove through Dundee at high speeds before his vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed on State Route 14. Emergency responders, including Dundee Fire Department, Dundee Ambulance, Penn Yan Ambulance, and Mercy Flight, arrived on the scene.
Webb was treated for his injuries at the scene before being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. He was later issued an appearance ticket for the charges and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
No additional injuries were reported, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
