A woman was arrested early Tuesday morning for violating a court-issued stay-away order of protection at a residence in the Brentwood Apartments complex.
Shannon E. Clay, 42, who is listed as homeless, was taken into custody by Ontario County Deputies around 1:36 a.m. after authorities responded to concerns regarding her mental and physical state. Through investigation, deputies determined that Clay was intentionally violating an active order of protection issued by Judge Reid A. Holter of Canandaigua Town Court.
The violation, categorized as criminal contempt in the second degree and aggravated family offense, occurred at an apartment on County Road 10. Following her arrest, Clay was transported to Thompson Hospital for a medical evaluation.
After being medically cleared, she was taken to the Ontario County Jail, where she is being held pending centralized arraignment.
Authorities have not released additional details about the incident or the nature of the complaint that prompted the response.
