A suspect in a robbery at a Walgreens in Ithaca was apprehended Thursday morning, but charges are pending after the individual suffered a medical emergency while in custody, police said.
According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Walgreens on Meadow Street at approximately 10:22 a.m. on Dec. 19. The suspect was located nearby and arrested without incident.
While at police headquarters, the suspect experienced a medical emergency and was transported by ambulance to a regional hospital. The suspect remains under medical care, and police said charges will be filed once the individual’s condition improves.
No further details about the suspect or the nature of the robbery have been released. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
