Big Lots confirmed it is shutting down all remaining stores after a failed sale to Nexus Capital Management. As part of the closures, locations in Auburn and Ontario will soon shut their doors for good. This follows earlier shutdowns in Canandaigua and Geneva.
The retailer, which filed for bankruptcy in September, has already closed over 400 stores this year. A final “going out of business” sale is underway at its 963 remaining locations.
The company is still pursuing alternative deals but warns of workforce reductions in January.
