Rochester residents expressed concern over recent drone sightings as Governor Hochul urged more federal support, 13WHAM-TV reports.

The sightings across New York and New Jersey have sparked unease, prompting Hochul to advocate for the Counter-UAS Authority Act to enhance FAA drone regulation. The FBI and DHS noted that some reports were misidentified aircraft, but acknowledged regulatory gaps.

Local officials, including those at Rochester’s airport, are collaborating with the FAA, though no immediate threats have been reported.
