ABC News agreed to pay $15 million to Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit, The Associated Press reports.
The lawsuit stemmed from George Stephanopoulos’ incorrect claim that Trump was found liable for rape in writer E. Jean Carroll’s case. ABC will also cover $1 million in legal fees and issue an apology online.
Trump was previously found liable for sexual assault and defamation, but not rape under New York law. He is appealing both verdicts.
