Two men were arrested Friday morning following a narcotics and weapons investigation in Ithaca, according to the Ithaca Police Department.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., the Ithaca-Tompkins Specialized Response Team executed a search warrant at 118 East Green Street. During the search, officers seized U.S. currency, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and an illegally possessed firearm.
Ramel Abdulla, 46, of Brooklyn, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony. He was arraigned by Judge Wallace in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
Randall Brooks, 65, of Ithaca, was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance, a Class E felony. Brooks was released on an appearance ticket.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are expected, authorities said.
