William Smith hockey shut out by Manhattanville

The William Smith hockey team was edged by Manhattanville 1-0 in a non-conference contest at Rye Playland and Ice Casino this afternoon.

Erin Murray started in goal and made 11 saves in just over 58 minutes of work.

Katherine Stahl scored for the Valiants. Olivia Cimorelli started in goal and made 27 saves.

FOR THE RECORD

  • The Herons conclude the 2024 portion of their schedule with a 3-7-1 overall record.
  • Manhattanville improves to 3-6-1 overall.

SCORING SUMMARY

  • Manhattanville scored the game’s only goal at the 4:30 mark of the second period. Katherine Stahl picked up a loose puck and wristed a shot from the top of the right faceoff circle past Murray. Her first goal of the season was assisted by Erin Flaherty and Taylor Willoughby.
