Starting January 1, 2025, minimum wage workers in New York will see a 50-cent pay increase. Employees in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County will earn $16.50 an hour, while the rest of the state will move to $15.50.
Another 50-cent increase is scheduled for January 2026, bringing the rates to $17 and $16 respectively.
Beginning in 2027, future increases will be tied to the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers. Visit the New York State Department of Labor’s website for details.
