Newark Man Charged With Assault After Disturbance in Arcadia

A Newark man has been charged with assault following an investigation into a disturbance on Ridley Road earlier this week, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

George H. Abrams, 53, of South Main Street, was arrested on December 4 in connection with a physical altercation that took place on December 1. Deputies allege that Abrams was involved in the incident, which resulted in injuries to another person.


Abrams met deputies at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on December 4, where he was processed and charged with one count of Assault in the Third Degree. Following his arrest, Abrams was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court on December 18.

Authorities have not disclosed the extent of the victim’s injuries or the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
