Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz will serve as Attorney General in President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration.
Trump, who announced the nomination, described Gaetz as a determined advocate for reforming the Justice Department. A graduate of the William & Mary College of Law, Gaetz is expected to play a central role in advancing Trump’s agenda, including oversight of key investigations.
The Attorney General appointment is one of many Trump has made as he prepares for his second term. His picks include Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, and Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
Trump also revealed plans for a Department of Government Efficiency, to be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, reflecting his focus on streamlining federal operations.
