New York’s exit polls reveal a notable shift toward President-elect Donald Trump, with increased support among men, younger voters, and Black New Yorkers. Though Vice President Kamala Harris won New York, Trump’s support rose across every county, reflecting broader trends that favored the Republican nationally.
In New York, 53% of men backed Trump, while 63% of women supported Harris, a pattern that diverged more strongly in national data. Among younger voters, men leaned toward Trump, with 56% supporting him, compared to 66% of young women who preferred Harris. Harris held onto the majority of Black and Latino votes, but Trump made gains, especially among Black men frustrated by economic conditions under the Biden administration.
Religious and income-based trends also showed shifts: Jewish support for Harris dipped from 63% in 2020 to 54% this year, while middle-income voters and those without college degrees leaned slightly toward Trump. Economic issues, particularly inflation, defined this election, driving many to seek a change in leadership.
