UR Medicine Thompson Health has achieved the highest recognition, Platinum, in the American Heart Association’s 2024 Well-being Works Better™ Scorecard, acknowledging the healthcare organization’s commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive workplace.
The Scorecard evaluates workplaces based on best practices in health equity, burnout prevention, and employee benefits. Companies can receive rankings of Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum, with Platinum indicating the highest level of adherence to the Association’s wellness standards. Thompson Health previously earned Gold but made strategic improvements to achieve Platinum in 2024.
Jennifer DeVault, Vice President of Associate Services and Wellness, attributed the success to a meticulous gap analysis that identified areas for growth. “Our Wellness team intentionally met the standards to earn Platinum, with initiatives like Wellness Wednesdays to promote healthy eating,” said DeVault.
Wellness Coordinator Kristen Seyfried noted the team’s two-year effort to advance from Gold, highlighting new initiatives such as Mental Health First Aid training, support groups, and a wellness survey to address associate needs. Additional benefits include physical activity programs, discounted wellness resources, and pet care support through TheCare.com.
The American Heart Association’s Scorecard encourages employers nationwide to implement science-backed practices to support workforce well-being. For more information and to view the full list of recognized organizations, visit heart.org/workforce.
