The Associated Press declared Riley the winner, and he celebrated with supporters early Wednesday, pledging to champion upstate New York’s values in Congress. Molinaro, addressing supporters in Binghamton, emphasized the importance of counting every vote.
New York Democrats flipped two House seats in Tuesday’s election, but party control of the U.S. House remains uncertain, while the GOP secured the Senate.
