Trump’s second term promises sweeping changes on immigration, economy, and retaliation

Trump’s second term promises sweeping changes on immigration, economy, and retaliation

As President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office again in January, he has laid out an ambitious and contentious agenda targeting immigration, economic reform, and even retaliation against his opponents. With a likely Republican-controlled Senate, Trump is set to push through extensive changes that could reshape America domestically and on the global stage.

On immigration, Trump has pledged the “largest deportation program” in U.S. history, alongside strict border security measures and a revived travel ban affecting certain regions. Economically, he aims to cut taxes and slash federal regulations, with proposed tariffs on imports to encourage American-made goods. Trump has also promised to make housing and car loans more affordable and plans to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, returning to fossil-fuel-friendly policies.

Retaliation is central to Trump’s agenda; he has vowed to prosecute political adversaries and install a special prosecutor to investigate President Biden and his family. Trump’s plans also include curbing federal support for schools that teach critical race theory or enforce COVID-19 mandates and reversing policies supporting gender-affirming care and transgender participation in sports.
